CHOREOGRAPHY AND MOVEMENT DIRECTION: With extensive training and a technically sound background, Marin is able to adapt seamlessly to multiple genres of dance and showcase a choreographic style that is both dynamic and feminine. From Jazz Funk to Ballet and everything in between, Marin's choreography is an expression of the human condition and explores storytelling through universal themes and connection. Marin also loves working with artists in Movement Direction and Coaching. She specifically enjoys working with actors and singers who want to improve their total body awareness, physicality, and performance while on stage. Marin's background provides a solid foundation from which she draws when teaching functional movement and spatial awareness to non-dancers. Marin's choreography and movement direction spans from advertisements to the stage, live entertainment, and print.

DANCE EDUCATOR: Marin has been in the dance education space for well over a decade. As a third generation dancer in her family, Marin fell in love with dance at an early age. Marin's Grandmother studied with Mary Starks Whitehouse and used to tell magical stories of seeing Martha Graham perform live in Detroit, and Marin's Mother is a classically trained Ballet and Modern dancer with a love of all things musical theatre. This led Marin to pursue dance as a career that is deeply rooted in the classical styles of Ballet, Modern, and Jazz dance. Marin's dance classes are a unique blend of technique, placement, strength, and the individual's artistry. Marin has taught dance at institutions in Texas, Pennsylvania, Maryland, New York, and California across all genres of dance. She also ran a successful virtual dance school and business during the pandemic (2020-2023) teaching 1500+ students in weekly dance classes and spreading the joy of dance. Marin particularly enjoys teaching Classical Ballet as an ABT Certified Teacher, as well as Modern and Contemporary Styles.

 

PERFORMER: Marin’s diverse training makes her a versatile dancer and performer. Marin has had the privilege of working with renowned Choreographers including Paul Taylor, Ronald K. Brown, Helen Pickett, The Martha Graham Trust, Michelle Gibson, Natalie Malotke, and more. Marin’s performance credits span from the stage to screen, including international tours with America's Got Talent Semi-Finalist Lightwire Theatre (Broadway's Ian Carney), feature films, commercials, theme parks, and regional theaters.

Marin's dance training is rooted in Classical Ballet, American Modern Dance, and Theater Jazz. Marin is an ABT® Certified Teacher, who has successfully completed the ABT® Teacher Training Intensive in Pre-Primary through Level 5 of the ABT® National Training Curriculum. Marin is also a proud member of the National Dance Education Organization, California Dance Education Association, Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT) and Progressing Contemporary Technique (PCT).​​​
